Current Confessions: Camo Inspiration

Hey there! I'm back today to share my new favorite print: Camouflage! I confessed my passion obsession with funky, colorful, quirky prints to you a while back and I thought I should add another one to my list of favorites.

Check out my last post on Plaid, Polka Dots, and Prints Galore to see the other prints that I adore!

I purchased the most adorable and comfortable twill camouflage jacket from LOFT this Fall and I am in love! To me, camo print is fun, edgy, trendy-but-classic (not sure if that makes sense but it does in my mind), versatile, sporty, and neutral. I love the varying shades of the traditional camo green. Camo can be worn with warmer tones in the Fall and lighter shades (I love it with blush pink) in the Spring. Such a versatile pattern!

I don't know about you, but I have been living in comfy tees and sneakers for the past few weeks, and my camo jacket is the perfect piece to top off my outfits with! Warmth + style = perfect match!

Sadly, my exact camo jacket is no longer available, but I found a few that are pretty darn close.

This one is almost an exact replica of mine. It has the adjustable drawstring at the waist, which is a nice fit.

Camo Twill Jacket {It's 60% off right now!}

This one is cute, too. Based on the fit description I think it is a little boxier fit and seems a bit shorter than mine. It's almost like a new version of a jean jacket!

I just ordered these overalls and cannot wait until they arrive!! They will look cute with a plain tee and my favorite sneakers!

...And this outfit speaks my love language!
ONE//Jeans: LOVE these!
TWO//Camo Scarf: outfit inspiration! I love how it combines a few different colors
THREE//Tee: The color is evening sand, but it has a blush hue to it.
FOUR//Loafers: I tried these on in store in a beautiful blush color and could kick myself for not purchasing them! They only have the nude color online, which is still a great option.
FIVE// Twill jacket: Such a great staple item. I love the drawstring cinch waist.
SIX//Belt: Great neutral addition to any wardrobe.

And I can't resist sharing a closer look at my new tee. It's from Target {high five}and it's super duper soft! It's only 12.99, which is a major steal!

Sometimes it's fun to be silly! :-)

Happy Matching!

Thoughts on Thursday {2-22-18}

It's Thursday, yahoo! My hubby has been home pretty much all week because the school he works at is on mid-winter break. Life has been more chaotic #rambunctuousboys in some ways, but a lot less stressful in others since I have an extra set of hands to help with the kids. I hope you've had a good week so far!

I'm back this week with the usual Thoughts on Thursday where I share a little bit of randomness with all of you, and I encourage you to do the same in the comments below!

1. I am LOVING watching the Winter Olympics! How about you? If I could compete in any of the sports it would have to be speed skating. I think it would be so much fun! What would be your sport of choice?

2. I have no idea how I'm going to get both kids out of the house when I return to work. I did a trial run yesterday and it took us 90 minutes...yes, 90 minutes from the time the kids woke up to us getting in the car. Soooo much happened in between....spilled cereal, potty training fail, toy drama, spit-up city, multiple outfit changes, etc...you name it, it happened!

3. I'm still on a clothing purge and trying very hard to remember these simple rules!

4. I forgot how awesome playdoh is until I introduced it to Mason this week!

5. I am in a scarf rut. Yes, it's true. I have been checking all of my favorite brands daily for a scarf that tickles my fancy and have yet to really fall in love with any! I am in need of a few new ones that will transition nicely into Spring. In case you missed my scarf confessions you can check them out here and here

That's all for now! Hope to hear all of your random ramblings in the comments below!

Happy Matching!

Style Confession #12: All Things Navy {With Splashes of Pink and Red}

Good morning to you! I'm back with another style confession. Style confession #12 if you're counting. :-)

What's a style confession? My very own guiding principles for putting outfits together. I'm certainly no fashion expert, but I 💓 all things color coordinated and can't resist sharing what I find with others in hopes that maybe there is another MatchiN'ista out there, too!

Check out my other style confessions here:
#1 Scarves, Scarves and more Scarves!
#2 Why Have a Coat Closet If You're Not Going to Fill It?
#3 Too Matchy-Matchy??...Never!
#4 Plaid, Polka Dots, and Prints Galore!
#5 Scarves, Coats, What's a MatchiN'ista Missing?...Boots of Course!
#6 My Socks Don't Always Match My Outfit..Gasp!
#7 If One is Good, Two is Better, and Three is Fabulous!
#8 I Love a Good Theme
#9 Hats Make Great MatchiN'spiration Pieces!
#10 Timely Fashionable
#11 Mommin' Isn't Easy But It's Better In Leggings!
#12 REVEALED TODAY!

Let's chat about another one of my style confessions. I LOVE all shades of blue, but navy is my favorite. Navy wears well in all 4 seasons; nautical in the Spring and Summer, navy infused plaid tones in the Fall; and outfits inspired by Winter blues are my love language. Navy can easily be worn as a neutral or for a pop of color. It's just one of those colors that looks amazing on everyone.

Ok, why am I gushing about a color you ask??...I know kinda silly...well, because when I'm obsessed passionate about something I tend to go a little overboard. I'm definitely the person who believes in buying multiples. Why limit yourself when one is good, two is better, and three is fabulous! #oneineverycolor #notahoarder

I digress...back to Navy. Here's a peek at some of my most recent Navy loves.

I couldn't ask for a more perfect shirt! The stripes are exactly what I gravitate toward for a spring/summer nautical look, and the bell sleeves are just too cute to pass up. If I'm being completely honest, I was hesitant to try this on because of the bell sleeves. I grabbed it anyway and I'm so glad I decided to go outside of my comfort zone a bit. Full disclosure: This would look super cute with a pair of dark denim (like my most recent faves in this post: Latest Confession: Jean Shopping 8 Weeks Post Partum), but most likely I will be wearing it with these dress pants for work. The sleeves just aren't practical for my daily mom duties of diaper changing, nursing, and playing superheroes right now. I can promise you this though, it will be in my weekly outfit rotation when I return work!

Fit Tip: The shirt is a looser fit, but runs pretty tts. I am wearing an xs. The pants are the Julie, which is a curvier fit. I am wearing a size 2 and they are a little loose in the waist.

Side Note: Clearly photography is not my forte. One of these days I'll get better at taking pics...and I'll remember to wear the right shoes for try-ons.

Loving this shirt with peacocks on it! So cute and comfortable. Another good wear-to-work piece. Give me all the navy and patterns!

I also love dressing for a good theme, and it just so happens that Valentine's Day is this week! I found so  many cute Valentine's Day tops that are navy with pops of color and I couldn't be more high excited! #highfive
This scarf from Anthropologie speaks my love language for all sorts of reasons. You know I love a good scarf; it's a great accessory for Valentine's Day, and it comes in Navy...it meets so many of my style confessions that I could not pass it up!

Update: Sadly, this scarf is no longer available online in navy. I found it at my local store, so be sure to check yours! It also comes in pink and red, which are both cute options!

Check out this tee from J Crew. It's another win-win for this MatchiN'ista! {Bonus: It's 30% off right now with code XOXO}

It's too cold in my neck of the woods to wear a short-sleeved tee, but it's perfect for those of you living in a warmer climate.

This shirt from Loft is super cute! Another adorable navy and white stripe combo, only this time with a little pop of red for Valentine's Day! It's part of the Lou and Grey collection so you know it's super soft. :-)

How about a pair of navy wellies {I'm all about the boots!} with these pink boot socks. So cute, right?!?

{on sale!}

I hope there's someone out there who loves the color navy as much as I do! If not, well, maybe this post convinced you to become just the slightest bit obsessed passionate. :-)

Happy Matching!

Thoughts on Thursday {2-8-18}

Hello! Happy day before the best day of the week!

I'm here today to share a bit of randomness for you in my weekly Thoughts on Thursday series. Please share your own random thoughts in the comments below!

1. Should we get another dog? Our dog, Wesley, is having a tough time coping with a toddler and a newborn. Would it be helpful if he had another furry friend to play with?

2. Spring clothing trends have me a little scared. I'm just not sure if I like all the cropped wide leg pants, cropped tops, ruffle sleeves, etc.

3. Will I ever sleep again?!? Nightly feeding sessions with a newborn seem like they last forever. I'm trying to embrace this time with my little guy because I know it won't last forever. It's still exhausting though.

4. I have no idea what I'm going to do when Maxwell outgrows this carrier! With colic and GERD causing him to be uncomfortable most of the time, at least he can snuggle in close to me and get some rest.

5. Why is Pizza so delicious? It's irresistible.

6. A local chocolate shop in my area recently advertised chocolate in the shape of an anatomical heart for Valentine's Day. This is totally my love language.

7. I can't believe I used to work out for 1-2 hours a day. I have a tough time fitting in 20 minutes 4-5 times per week!

8. I think I could live off of crockpot dinners for life and her's why: Our oven broke this past week and we decided to have it repaired instead of purchasing a new one. We are waiting on a part to arrive before it can be fixed, so we've been making lots of dinners in the crockpot. It's so easy to throw in a few ingredients and let it cook all day! Prior to this experience our crockpot collected dust in the basement, so you can understand my excitement with this new found discovery!

9. I love how toddlers are fascinated by the simplest things. Mason saw me stirring creamer in my coffee and asked if he could help. It was hot and I didn't want him to burn himself accidentally, so I gave him a cup of water and a spoon and he "stirred" all morning. Best activity ever! The downside: I now have a mound of laundry to do because he did not like being wet and went through 3 changes of clothes. As well as lots of towels....lots and lots of towels.

                                                                                                                10. I absolutely despise lint on my clothes, so I bought this at my most recent trip to Target. It's amazing!

January Stitchfix Part III

Hi, Friends!

I'm back to show you the rest of the items from my most recent fix from Stitchfix. Check out part I {Cute sneaks!} and Part II {Vest: keep it or not?} here and here.

leggings
First up are these Caught in the Midi buttery soft leggings by Beyond Yoga that are to die for! They are a bit pricey, but they are worth every penny...especially considering my post partum body feels most comfortable in leggings these days! There are a variety of different colors listed on the website, but the color I received is Spacedye, which is a dark grey color.

The fit is spot on and so flattering on the mama tummy. The material is slightly thicker than some leggings that I have tried in the past, which I love, and is another reason why I think they are totally worth the price!

tee//leggings//similar sweatshirt cardi//shoes

Since I'm house bound most days with a newborn and a toddler, this outfit is the most practical for me. I love this cute blessed shirt  that I found at Target. I bought a size small, but I wish I would have sized up to a medium for a looser fit.

My stylist totally nailed it with this cowl neck sweater. It runs true to size and is absolutely the softest thing ever. It is longer length, think tunic style, and super flattering. It's definitely a top that I could live in. Such a versatile piece, too! Think leggings and slip-ons or jeans and booties! I'm so happy about this piece! Can you tell?!?

This top can be worn so many different ways! I love it paired with these olive skinnies {On sale!}from J Crew and my favorite booties. It also looks cute with leggings and sneakers.

Sadly I could not find it online, but you can request it in your next fix. Ask your stylist for the Loveapella Hoy Cowl Knit Tunic.

All I can say is I'm still undecided about this next item. It's certainly versatile and cute, but it comes at a pretty high price tag ($78). The material is great! Super soft and swingy {does that make sense??}, but I have a lot of other tees that were a bit more reasonably priced.

I think this would be a cute look for spring! Of course I'm wearing my new favorite jeans from LOFT. Love them! I gushed over them in this post: Latest Confession: Jean Shopping 8 Weeks Post Partum.

It also looks cute with leggings and any gray cardi. Versatility for the win!

Love this combination, too, with my olive skinnies, favorite booties, and a long grey (cozy) cardigan. My exact cardi was from another fix from Stitchfix, but you can find similar ones here, here, and here {Super soft!}

That's all for now! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Happy Matching!

Stitchfix Confession: Keep it or not?!?

Keep it or Not?

I received this vest in my recent fix from Stitchfix (not familiar with Stitchfix?? Read about it here) and I am truly undecided on it. It's so soft, and I fell in love with it when I pulled it out of the box...that is, until I tried it on. I really want to love this vest. Maybe it's outside my comfort zone; maybe I'm not styling it the correct way; or maybe it's just the fit...I just don't know! I want to love it, can you tell???

vest(s)//striped tee (xs)//leggings(s)//similar booties

I wasn't able to find the exact vest online, which is typical of Stitchfix (and definitely one of the perks! You are sent items that are made exclusively for Stitchfix customers), but you can always request that your stylist include this item in your fix - It's called the Dakota Textured Knit Vest by Coffeeshop.

So, like I said I want to love it. It's the right price for me ($78) and it's super versatile. I have a little bit of time to decide if I want to keep it or not. Feel free to share your opinion in the comments below!

If you missed the reveal of all of the items that I received in this month's fix check them out here. Check out my fave item here!

Thoughts on Thursday {2-1-18}

I can't believe it's February! Where does the time go?!?

I'm back this week with the usual Thoughts on Thursday where I share a little bit of randomness with all of you, and I encourage you to do the same in the comments below!

Let's get to it, shall we?

1. I am so excited for our second annual Valentine's countdown tradition. I found these cute mailboxes at Target last year and decided it would be fun for us to put little gifts in each others mailboxes on each of the fourteen days leading up to Valentine's Day. {Side note - I should have bought an extra one last year knowing that we probably would have more kids! The boys will have to share for now. :-)}

2. Do you like the Pepsi throwback logo? I decided that I don't care for it. I have no idea why, I just don't.

3. I wish there was a website that allowed you to rent or trial baby items. We are in the market for a new swing/seat for Max and there are so many out there! I have no idea which one to buy. I've read some great recommendations on Pinterest, but each child has their own preferences so it's difficult to know if Max will like the same one as another baby.

4. I miss caffeine sooooo much! Max was diagnosed with reflux and the pediatrician suggested that I eliminate dairy and caffeine from my diet since I am breastfeeding (actually pumping & bottling but that's a whole other post!) I have been slowly weaning myself off now for the past few days and it's rough!

5. Speaking of eliminating dairy...I am absolute loving my nightly snack of cheerios and Dark Chocolate Silk. It is so delicious!

That's all I have for you this week! Please share your random thoughts so I'm not lonely. :-)

Happy Matching!
