Confessions of Life Lately

Hello, there! Long time no see. Life has been busy, but things are slowing down a bit, so I thought I would share what we've been up to in this neck of the woods. I'm totally fibbing, things are not slowing down but I miss blogging so I decided to forego my weekend cleaning and type this blog post instead!

Since so much time has passed and I have so much to share (all super important, of course!), I thought it best to break 'life lately' into categories...this mama is all about categorizing. It keeps me organized! (along with color coordinating, pattern mixing and matching, to-do list making, as well as lots of other quirky things!)

Family

Mason is 17 months old and I can't even believe it.
We took him to get his first haircut on Saturday morning and I can't believe how grown up he looks now.  I'm not sure who was more traumatized by the experience; him or me?!?

This picture was taken before his haircut....check out those curls! Love, love, love his little curls.

Like I said, I'm not sure who was more traumatized by the whole experience, him or me. At first he was fine sitting on the panda, but then we had to put the cape on and it was all downhill from there. Thankfully his hairstylist, Maggie, knew just what to do. She put on Sesame Street and the tears were gone within no time at all!

All better! Look at his big boy haircut!

My hubby has been Busy! Busy! Busy! at work. And checking things off of our my to-do list. I convinced him that we needed a new storm door to the entrance of our home and so he installed it. Yesterday. In 30 degree weather. Then this morning all 3 boys enjoyed the full-view.

Not too much is happening with me these days. Just enjoying spending weekends with my little family. Still enjoying my fave ceramic mugs from Starbucks, too! Hubby surprised me with this Valentine one the other day.

In fur-baby news, Wesley ate my EOS Chapstick on Friday, so, yeah, there's that. Thankfully he's ok! I called the vet and they said to watch his behaviors for 48 hours. He's 100% back to normal!

Fashion

Omg, I finally purchased my first pair of LuLaRoe leggings, thanks to my mom. Of course I had to get a patterned pair, one with hearts, perfect for Valentine's Day! I can't wait to rock the outfit below on Tuesday!
Ok, so if I'm being completely honest, the outfit above is not even close to the perfect match that I thought it would be when I purchased each item separately. However, since neither item is refundable and I only have one day to sport my valentine's day gear, I'm going to rock it to the best of my ability. This goes against every MatchiN'ista principal in my body, but that's life, right?

Of course I couldn't just purchase one pair of LuLaRoe leggings for Valentine's Day! I also have this outfit that I've been sporting on the weekends.

Hubby bought me an Apple Watch for Christmas and I can't say enough positive comments about it. I'm looking at new bands, ones that match my outfits of course!

Entertainment

Have you seen Shameless? We are watching it on Netflix and cannot get enough of the Gallagher Family! It's a must see according to me!

Home

We are all ready for Valentine's Day! I get sucked into one particular section of Target (yes I'm talking about you, one spot!) on every shopping trip and of course I can find a use for almost everything they have. Mostly Valentine's Day stuff as of late!

Work

Life on the work front has been pretty busy. I'm changing one of my bulletin boards in my classroom and found these two ideas on pinterest that I'm considering.

Have I confessed my love for conversation heart speech-language therapy activities?!? I've been using the chalk textured, pepto bismo tasting hearts for every activity and the kids think it's the best thing ever. So, I'm rolling with it....right into this week when we actually get to celebrate Valentine's Day!

Ok, well that's it for now! Hopefully I'll be back sooner rather than later.....no promises though. 😉

Happy Matching!
